FULTON, NY – Emily V. Babcock, 66, of Granby, died Tuesday June 5, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Margaretville, she was a 31-year resident of Granby.
She retired from Granby Town Court in 2007 after 15 years as the court clerk.
Emily previously had a ceramics business in Long Island for many years.
She was a member of the Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed camping, arts, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving: her husband of 50 ½ years, Harold Babcock; children, Jennifer Meyerriecks of Rochester, NH, Kurt (Barbara) Babcock of Cortland, Kerry (Gerald Jr.) Truax of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Melissa (Michael), Sabrina and Seth; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Maverick; a brother, Robert (Jacki) VanValkenburgh; a sister, Susan Needham; an uncle, Gerald Mestyanek; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. with 7 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
Burial will be Halcott Cemetery, Halcott NY.
