OSWEGO – Evelyn M. Pritchard, 93, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Sterling, she was the daughter of the late Ward and Amanda Walrath Shortslef. She married Eugene Pritchard at age 18 and lived on their family farm in Sterling for most of her life. Evelyn loved family, farming (usually) and music.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Pritchard and four siblings: Arthur, Amenzo, Ward Jr., and Robert Shortslef.
Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Joan (Paul) Kelley of Sterling and Janis (Steven) Cianfarano of Hannibal; two brothers, Neil Shortslef of Sterling and Chub Shortslef of Oswego; one sister, Theresa (Shortslef) Naklick of Florida; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
All services will be held privately. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter, 441 W. Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204, in Evelyn’s memory. Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal, has care of arrangements.

I am so sorry to read of Evelyn’s passing. I worked with her for several years at Harrwood Nursing Home in Oswego. She was kind, caring and a lot of fun to work with. I wish her family the best.
