Fanny B. Knapp, 89

FULTON, NY – Fanny Barker Knapp, 89 of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018, at her home.

She retired after 35 years as a school bus driver at the Phoenix Central School System and formerly at the Fulton Consolidated School District.

Fanny was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church, which is currently the First United Church of Fulton.

She was a member and served as Matron of Elizabeth Chapter 105, Order of the Eastern Star and past Queen of Cairo Temple 26, Daughters of the Nile, and a member of the Kayendatsyona Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Fanny raised and bred horses on the family farm and hosted kindergarten children as a field trip destination.

She also rode her palomino horse in many local parades.

Fanny was a founding member of the Lake Neatahwanta Revitalization Project.

Family was very important to Fanny.

She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Charles T. Knapp, in 2017.

She is survived by their sons, Lance (Polly), Loren (Denise), Mark (Jacqueline) and Bruce (Julie) Knapp all of Fulton; grandchildren, Ryan, Douglas, Jason, Amy, Michael, Amanda, Steven, Aaron and Katie; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Emilee, Joshua, Tucker, Max, Ava Marie, Ethan, Trevor, Evan and Connor; a sister, Betsy Ward of Midland, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the funeral home with burial following at Mount Adnah Cemetery, 706 E. Broadway, Fulton.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. Third St., Fulton, NY 13069 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33607.
