FULTON – Gabriel M. DeSantis, 23, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Upstate University Hospital after a lifelong battle with his disabilities.
He was born in 1996, in Greenville, North Carolina, a son to Scott DeSantis and Dawn Tyler DeSantis. Gabriel was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School in 2014. He enjoyed camping, listening to music and visiting grandma and grandpa’s house.
Gabriel was predeceased by his step-father, Michael Vanderhaden in 2018 and sister, Deanna DeSantis in 1993.
He is survived by his mother, Dawn Tyler DeSantis of Fulton; father, Scott DeSantis of Baldwinsville; two sisters, Randi (Jean) Perez and Asia (Brendon Kelly) DeSantis; one step-sister, Annee Vanderhaden; maternal grandparents, Dee and Tom Tyler of Palermo as well as several nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton, has care of arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear of Gabriel’s passing. He wasn’t one of the special children I worked with, but I saw him everyday at Volney. He was a very special boy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his loved ones. May you let GOD comfort you at this very trying time.
Dawn and family so sorry about Gabe. Your family and your mom and dad are in my prayers every night. He was a very special boy that received special care and love 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
