George ‘Chawgo’ E. Chawgo, 75

FULTON, NY – George “Chawgo” E. Chawgo, 75, of Fulton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday December 14, 2017, with his loving wife by his side.

He proudly served in the Army, spending 31 months in Germany.

Chawgo returned to work for the Fulton Telephone Company and retired as a supervisor after 40 years.

He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Chawgo; and a stepson, Richie Eckard.

Chawgo will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years, Betty; children, Keith Chawgo, Kelly Ritter and Kim Chawgo; stepchildren, Kim (David) Berryhill, Denise (Tom) Grinnell and Julie Little; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Tim Chawgo and Ken Chawgo.

Calling hours will be held 3 to 6 p.m., Monday, December 18, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

In lieu of flowers, Chawgo’s family encourages donation be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.

  2. to the Chawgo family, I am sad to hear of Cork’s passing. He was a special person, I know he will be missed. My husband passed in September, take comfort their suffering is over and be at peace.
