Jack T. Kio, 80

Jack T. Kio, 80, of Oswego, died Wednesday at Oswego Hospital.

He was born in Fulton and a life resident of the Oswego area. Jack graduated from Minetto High School where he played baseball and basketball.

He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Jack was a proud veteran who was an active life member of V.F.W. Post #569, Fulton. He was also a member of the Marine Night Fighter Association; a charter life member of the Korean War Veterans National Museum and Library and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.

His memberships also included the Syracuse Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite, Valley of Syracuse; Media Shriners, Watertown; Oswego County Shrine Club and its Motor Patrol; 51 year member of Lake City Lodge, Oswego; a 25 year member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #271, Oswego; a 23 year member of the Minetto Volunteer Fire Department; life member of the N.R.A.; the N.R.A. Whitting Center and a member of the P.G.A. Tour Partners.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard E. and Edith M. Hees Kio; by four brothers, Leigh Kio, Howard Kio, Jr., Kenneth Kio and George Kio and by a sister, Sally Kio Kelly.

He is survived by several nephews and nieces.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with services to follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St. Fulton. Burial with full military honors will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
