FULTON, NY – James A. Stuart, 69, of Fulton, lost his three-year courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday October 18, 2016

He was born in Fulton to the late Richard A. and Delores Andersen Stuart.

James retired from Niagara Mohawk, after 26 years of service as a chief gas mechanic.

He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam from 1965-1968 and was a life member of the Phoenix VFW Post 5540, Phoenix American Legion Post 418 and Liverpool Elks Lodge 2348.

Jim loved to hunt and was an avid outdoorsman.

He was especially known for his unique humor and “Jiminisms.”

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Bailey Stuart; a daughter, Sheryl (Chris) Shahan of Tennessee; three step-sons, Brian Corsoneti of Liverpool, Marc Corsoneti of Florida and Jon Corsoneti of Baldwinsville; six grandchildren, Isabella and Emily Shahan, Ryan, Michael, Ayden and Giovanna Corsoneti; a sister, Judy (Joe) Corso; and brother, Jerry (Deb) Stuart.

Calling hours will be held Saturday October 22, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, October 24, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Seventh Street, Fulton.

  2. Sharon, Very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I have many good memories of past times with Jim and his ability to always have great joke or story to tell.
