James ‘Jim’ Painter

FULTON, NY – On Thursday April 23, 2015, James Edward Painter, 77, with the love of his family near him, joined his sister, Jean.

When Jim finished serving his country in the United States Army, he came home to Fulton.

Jim worked construction and painting all his life.

He was retired from Laborers’ Local 214 in Oswego.

Jim was predeceased by his brothers, Bill and Kenneth Painter; sisters, Mildred, Beverly, Alice, Joann and his other half, Jean.

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Dayle A. Painter; children, Renee (Bill) Crandall, William B. Painter, Bart E.(Valerie) Painter, Lynn (Steven) Kopp, Rachel (Thomas) Broedel, Karen Painter and Willow Painter; sister, Donna Woodworth (Charles Woodworth II); brother, Keith Painter; grandchildren, Cynthia Crandall, Matthew Crandall, John Painter, Michelle Comerford, Jessica Painter, Michael Dalere, Joel Gonzalez, Steven Gonzalez, Teresa Gonzalez, Alexandra Gonzalez, Amanda Broedel, Kaitlyn (Charlee) Broedel, Shepard Steadman and Elijah Steadman; great-grandchildren, Liberty Jean, Kearstine, Brianna and Devyn Comerford, Eliza, Corbin and Gabriel.

James did not wish for there to be any funeral services.

He wants us to come together as a family to share our grief, hopes and most important, laughter.

James legacy lives on through all of us, the family he served so well.

  1. DAYLE & FAMILY: I AM SO SORRY HEAR OF YOUR LOSS. HE WAS A VERY KING GENTLEMAN. I ALWAYS ENJOYED IS FEW TRIPS TO THE LABORERS’ WELFARE & PENSION OFFICE.
