FULTON, NY – John A. “Johnny” Williams, 50, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Oswego Hospital surrounded by his family.

Son to the late Robert and Patricia (Price) Williams, he was a lifelong resident of Fulton.

Johnny loved music and was an accomplished, self-taught musician.

He also enjoyed fishing, family and being with his friends.

Johnny was always willing to help out family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Izaiah.

He also served in the United States Army from 1986 until 1992.

Aside from his parents, Johnny was predeceased by his brother, Phillip Kevin Williams.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Cherie Williams of Fulton; four siblings, Steven (Carline) Williams of Maryland, Laurie (Jan Pierce) Rupracht of Mexico, Michael (Jacqueline) Williams of South Carolina and Sharon (Randy) Barnes of Palermo; two children, Kristin LaPointe of Florida and Paul LaPointe of Fulton; grandson, Izaiah VanBuren of Fulton; step-parents, Francis and Linda Tyrrell of Fulton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At Johnny’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.

Contributions in Johnny’s memory may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation Tri-State, 59 Front St., Binghamton, NY 13905.

  1. Johnny, I am going to miss you so much. You were not only my Brother but my Hero. with this monster that had a hold of you, you still took charge of your life and lived it to the fullest. You fought those demons every day and won. Live Free now and Fly High. Love you my Brother.

  2. What does one say when you hear the sad news of a childhood friends’ passing except I hope he has found peace and tranquility in his journey.
