FULTON, NY – Mary C. O’Brien, 84, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Pontiac Nursing Home in Oswego.

She was a 1951 graduate of Fulton High School.

Mary was a secretary for Sealright in Fulton, L.W Singer Publishing company in Syracuse and retired in 1990 from Crouse Hinds in Syracuse.

After retirement, Mary resumed working in 1993 with the United Way in Fulton.

She loved to read and work on crossword puzzles in her free time.

She also enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and loved to volunteer her time in the hospital gift shops at St. Joseph’s and A.L. Lee Memorial.

Mary also volunteered her time working with the Fulton Historical Society for many years.

Surviving are her sister, Elizabeth Williams of Mayfield; two nieces, Bridget (Michael) Dudzik of Walden and Stacy (Greg) Gatto of Pelham; a nephew, Brian (Lauren) Williams of Southington, Conn.; a great-niece, Brooke Gatto and great-nephew, Jack Dudzik.

Calling hours will be held 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 31, at Holy Trinity Parish, corner of South Third and Buffalo streets in Fulton, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Friends of History in Fulton, 177 S. First St., Fulton, NY 13069.

  1. We will miss Mary coming next door to sit on our porch. We always enjoyed reminiscing and did a lot of it.
