FULTON, NY – Norman E. Munroe, 34, formerly of Fulton, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014, in San Francisco, California.
A native of the Fulton area, Norm was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, Fulton, and Cornell University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and had many close brothers.
Norm was living in San Francisco and was a global manager for Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
He had previously lived and worked in the San Diego area for about 10 years.
His kind, gentle soul gifted him a tight knit family of friends in both locations where he was loved by many.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fulton for many years.
Norm will be greatly missed and forever loved by his parents, Anita and Thomas Munroe-Church; step-brother, Aaron Church; step-sister, Kelli (Tony) DeLeon; grandparents, Norma and Norman Noel; aunts, Melissa Haas and Connie Munroe; uncles, Brett (Tracey) Noel and Thomas Munroe; cousins, Michael and Ricky Walker, Rebecca Haas, Gene Jones, Corissa Chavaz, Morgan Shibel, Nicole Hicks, Gabriella Munroe and Bryce Noel.
Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

Anita and family, I am so, so sorry for your loss. In 1963 when I married into the Munroe clan I met three lovely, sweet little girls. Circumstances beyond our control made our connection brief but I do remember you well. I wish I had known Norman. I’m sure he was a wonderful son. Our deepest condolences for your loss. Norman was a trusted employee, colleague and we grew to become friends. During our brief time together (less than 2 years), we talked about many things from work to life and all in between (love of sports). Norman had an infectiousness about him that drew people to him. Many people from his responsibilities in California, to his teammates in the US & Germany, to fellow colleagues in the UK all enjoyed their time with Norman and will miss him greatly. There is a hole in our lives, as a result of his untimely departure. Our collective hearts go out to you and your family.
Anita and family, sorry about your loss. It was a shock to hear about the passing of Norm. He was a wonderful high school classmate and a joy to be around. I remember a couple of times taking the ride from SUNY Cortland and meeting up with Norm at Cornell. We had a blast and even though we did not talk much over the couple of years.
