FULTON, NY – Richard E. Farrands, 79, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday August 9, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born on October 25, 1935, in Port Jefferson, a son to the late Earl Richard and Mary Catherine Atkinson Farrands.
Richard was a veteran of the Army serving in Korea.
In 1999, he retired from the Fulton Junior High as the art teacher for many years.
He loved working with stained glass, watercolor painting and gardening.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra B. Farrands.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife Caroline; six children, Richard (Sandra) Farrands Jr. of Fulton, Scott (Denise) Farrands of Clifton Springs, Bill (Sandra) Farrands of Fulton, Daniel Farrands of Clifton Springs, Dana (Christopher) Boshnack of Brockport and Arch (Doreen) Ramos of North Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Robert (Jean) Farrands of Rochester, Lauretta Sieger of Florida and Cathy Shockley of Long Island; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
