Rodney L. Hardesty, 75

HANNIBAL, NY – Rodney L. Hardesty, 75 of Granby, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday February 27, 2013.

A native of Conesville, Ohio, he had resided in the Granby-Fulton area since 1975.

Rodney retired from Nestle Company, Fulton, in 2000 after 24 years as a mechanic.

He served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years from 1955 to 1975.

Rodney was a member of the Oswego Valley Snowbelters Barbershop Chorus for many years.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Sandra Hardesty of Granby; two sons, Michael (Diana) Hardesty of Oswego and David Hardesty of Auburn; two grandchildren, Alexa and Mikayla of Oswego; his grand-dog, Sammy; two brothers, Bradley Hardesty of Florida and Edmond Hardesty of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal, with services immediately following.

  1. Rod became a good friend over the past 4 years. Many fond memories and lunches at the computer shop. He will be greatly missed. They certainly dont make them like that anymore. My reguards to the family and god bless.

  2. Sandy & family, so sorry to hear of Rod’s passing. he put up a good fight these past few years. Tony thought a lot of him, enjoyed his visits after his surgery, & always enjoyed the “meetings” at Mimi’s Please know we ae thinking of you, and you are in our hearts at this sad time.
