Sophie F. Tryt, 96

FULTON, NY – Sophie F. Tryt, 96, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2016, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown.

One of 14 siblings, she was born on July 10, 1920, to Mary and John Jadus.

Sophie was married to Stephen S. Tryt on July 6, 1940, and they resided in Fulton most of their married life.

She worked at many jobs, including The Taggarts in Oswego, telephone operator and others as well as an employee of Sealright Co. in Fulton before she retired due to an injury.

Sophie was predeceased by her husband of 68 plus years, Stephen; granddaughter, Michelle; four sisters, Stella, Anna, Pauline and infant Anna; seven brothers, Joe, John, Henry, Edward, Jacob, Walter and Albert; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by her daughter, Maryann (William K.) Reeves Jr. of Dexter; son, John (Judy) Tryt of Fulton; six grandchildren, Robert (Kathy) Morse of Baldwinsville, Deborah (Mike) Ferguson of Clayton, David (Stacy) Morse of LaFargeville, Tom (Nicole) Tryt of Binghamton, Nick (Kana) Tryt of Fulton and Ryan Tryt of Fulton; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Morse of Oswego, Welsey (Danielle) Morse of Oswego, Parker and Peyton Morse of LaFargeville, Emily and Nicole Morett of Clayton, Tyler Tryt of Binghamton and Releigh and Lexi Tryt of Fulton; three great-great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Lillian and Alana Morse of Oswego; two sisters, Rose Bergin of Utica and Helen (Bob) Marsh of Liverpool; sister-in-law, Josephine Jadus of Oswego; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, corner of Rochester and South Third streets, Fulton.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
