FULTON, NY – William H. Battles, 81, of Volney, passed away on Tuesday January 12, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born on December 2, 1934, in Oswego.
Bill was a stone mason for many years.
He loved to fish and have a cold beer.
Bill is a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War.
Along with his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Battles; and step-son, Robert Walpole II.
He is survived by two children, William Battles Jr. and Ralph Battles; six grandchildren, Kara O’Neil, George O’Neil, Billy Jo Battles, David Battles, Audry Battles and Joe Battles; many great-grandchildren; two step-children, George (Casey) Walpole and Shari (Roger) Wideman; one sister, Joan Battles; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the spring with military honors.
