HANNIBAL, NY – Winton E. Reed, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2016, at home.
Winton was born on November 30, 1922, in Syracuse, a son to Milo and Carola Vogt Reed.
Winton was motor machinist mate First Class in the Navy during World War II.
He retired from Sealright, in Fulton, after 30 years.
Winton enjoyed carpentry work, deer hunting, gardening but most of all he enjoyed trout fishing.
He was predeceased by his son, Gary, in 2015; one brother, Harold Reed; and one sister, Elaine Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara Reed; one daughter, Laurel (Allan) Hines; one son, Winton P. (Lynn) Reed; four grandchildren, Christine (Rick) Wilmer, Amber Hines (Rick), Allan (Trish) Hines and David Hines; four great-grandchildren, Aleena (James) Tompkins, Shelby Wilmer, Dalton Hines and Tyler Fancet; one great-great-grandson, James Tompkins; one brother, Anson (Joan) Reed; and as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Monday, February 15, from 11 a.m. to noon at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga St., Hannibal.
A service will follow at noon.
Spring burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander.
