Daniel Vashaw

Born in Oswego, Danny was the third eldest of five born to John A. Vashaw Sr. and the late Patricia A. (Greene) Vashaw.

Danny was a graduate of Oswego High School.  He went on to work in the trades as a pipefitter for many years.

Danny had a larger than life personality. He had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold.  Danny was a kind friend, and he loved his family more than anything. Always a huge sports fan, Danny enjoyed participating in and watching all sports. He was a good athlete who played hockey and wrestled when he was in school.  In later years, he enjoyed the game of golf.

Danny is survived by his loving father John A. Vashaw of Scriba, his sister Lori Vashaw, and brothers John (Heather) Vashaw, David (Mary Kate) Vashaw, and Matthew (Emily) Vashaw.  He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother Patricia A. Vashaw in 2020, his niece Ashley Cowden, and nephews Carter J. and Austin J. Vashaw.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7 pm on Monday, April  22, 2024, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street. A funeral service will follow  at the funeral home at 7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Danny’s name to the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
