Mario DiRaddo

OSWEGO – Mario DiRaddo, Jr., 59, of Oswego passed on May 11, 2020 at home.

Mario DiRaddo

Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Mario Sr. and Joan (Rheaume) DiRaddo.

After graduating from Henniger High School, Mario served in the U.S. Army.  He was honorably discharged and returned to Syracuse where he worked as a welder and carpenter.  He was employed, for many years, by the Syracuse City School District.

Mario met his first and only love Lisa in 1977, when he was just 16 years old.  They had a love story that spanned over a decade. Mario and Lisa were finally married in November of 2006, on the judge’s birthday, after being reunited by his father Mario, Sr.  Although they divorced two years ago they remained very close and present in each others lives.

Mario was an outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and shooting.  His favorite place was Fair Haven Beach, where he and Lisa visited often to enjoy the beach and barbecue.  Mario loved his dog Maxie and loved attending rock concerts around the area.  He was very friendly and social, and was well known throughout the community.  He also spoke Italian, loved latin mass and was a member of both St. Mary’s Church and Elim Grace.  He will be missed by many, including his dear friend Phil Laux Jr..

Mario is survived by his ex-wife, Lisa (Tilman) DiRaddo of Oswego and his sister Jackie (DiRaddo) Perry.

He was predeceased by his father, Mario DiRaddo Sr. in 2005 and his mother Joan DiRaddo in 1996.

Due to COVID, services will be private.  Mario’s burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Nelson Funeral Home.
