Suzanne Marie O’Connor

OSWEGO – Suzanne Marie O’Connor, 63, of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2024.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Diane (Quesnell) Miller.

Suzanne was a graduate of Oswego Catholic High School.  She married the love of her life George “Andy” O’Connor on May 5th, 1990, and raised their children. Suzanne worked at Price Chopper as a baker and was always volunteering her time to support her family and community.  She was a church school teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and her children’s number one fan.  Her crowning achievement was her children.  It’s a good thing she was a race fan because if she wasn’t at the speedway supporting Greg and David, she was on her tablet supporting Andrew from afar.  She also loved sharing stories of Megan’s travels and adventures. Most of all, she was proud of the adults her children had become.

Suzanne was kind, loving, supportive, and fun.  She was always up for a good laugh and was never one to take life too seriously.  She became a second mother to most of her children’s friends and was always there to provide support, a hug, and a dose of tough love if needed.  Her friendships were never-ending, and she will be missed immensely by everyone.

Suzanne is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, George O’Connor, and children, daughter Megan O’Connor, and sons Greg (Fiance Crystal Flack) O’Connor, Andrew O’Connor, and David O’Connor.  She also leaves behind her brothers Christopher (Jennifer) Miller and Thomas (Joy) Miller, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 am to Noon on Monday, March 11th, 2024, with a service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Blessing in a Backpack in Suzanne’s name. PO Box 5229 Oswego NY 13126.
