Alfred E. ‘Butch’ Ferguson, 67

OSWEGO, NY – Alfred E. “Butch” Ferguson, 67, a resident of Cherry Street in Oswego, passed away Thursday April 25, 2013, in El Paso, Texas.

Butch was born in Oswego, the son of the late Alfred I. and Irene (Crowell) Ferguson.

He was a life resident.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Boilermakers Local #175, working on many area construction projects.

Butch was an enthusiastic golfer and a member of the Oswego Country Club. He was also a member of the Oswego Elks Lodge, and enjoyed sailing with his friends at the Oswego Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lue (Reidy) Ferguson of Oswego; a son, Garett (Melissa) Ferguson of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Furman of Oswego and Lynda (Rick) Hood of Salem, Oregon; a granddaughter, Meredith Ferguson; a grandson, Mason Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Jamie Ferguson; a sister, Frances Ferguson; a brother, Kenneth Ferguson; a brother-in-law, Paul Furman; and a sister-in-law, Teresa Reedy.

Private graveside services will be held in Rural Cemetery.

At Butch’s request, there will be no calling hours.
