Bryant K. Dunsmoor, 73

OSWEGO, NY – While surrounded by his loving family, Bryant K. Dunsmoor, 73, of Central Square, was called to Heaven on Wednesday January 23, 2013, for his long-awaited reunion with his wife of 30 years, Leona M. (Wallace) Dunsmoor, gone to soon on November 7, 1991.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Orlia D. and Bernice K. (Bullock) Dunsmoor.

Mr. Dunsmoor (known by his friend’s as “Pete”) dedicated service to this country in the US Navy from June 1956 to August 1977.

After his military service, Bryant maintained a small family farm while he was employed at Crouse Hinds, General Electric and Carrier Corporation before his retirement.

Leaving to mourn and cherish his loving memories are six daughters, Ms. Emily M. Dunsmoor of North Volney, Mrs. Michael (Heidi L.) Pinkasiewicz of Virginia, Ms. Bernice K. Parkhurst of North Carolina, Mrs. Dennis (Leona M.) Juno of Illinois, Ms. Betty J. Dunsmoor of Fulton and Mrs. Geoff (Vera J. Dunsmoor) Smith of Palermo; eight grandsons, William Bryant, Kendall Jackson, Jacob Wade, Justin William, Dennis Richard, Michael Anthony, Donovan Earl and John Bryant;  a great-granddaughter, Michaela Mae; one brother, Fredrick F. of Taipei; two sisters, Ms. Aldo (Sena B.) Stone and Mrs. Ward (Rose M.) Pepper both of Scriba; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Dunsmoor was predeceased by four brothers, Robert A. of Oswego, Orlia C. of Oswego, Jack D. of South Carolina and Edgar E. of Oswego; and one sister,  Mrs. Robert (Norine B.) Buske of Oswego.

Burial will be Fairdale Cemetery in the spring 2013.

Calling hours will be Sunday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m and 5-6 p.m. followed by funeral services to be held at 6 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home 112 E. Second St., Oswego.

Contributions may be made in his memory to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.

Bryant’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Syracuse VA Medical Center (especially Dr. Oleg Shapiro and his surgical team, Dr. Hudson, Oncology, Sue Segreti, NP Oncology, Dr. Ogrinc, primary physician) for their medical capabilities and dedication.

They would also like to extend their appreciation to the Oswego County Hospice team for its wonderful support and compassionate care of their dad and the family.

  1. Bryant was a very nice man,My Mother (Bertha Bullock) was Best Friends with his late wife Leona & his First cousin,when my Mother passed away 11 years ago ,he gave her a plot. RIP God Bless,You have a Wonderful family
