MEXICO, NY – Catherine Kaminski Yablonski, 96, a former resident of Mexico, NY, died Wednesday Sept. 15, 2010, in Monroeville, Pa.
She was born in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hnatiu) Kaminski.
She was the wife of the late Edward Yablonski; and sister of Helen Goldych of North Syracuse and of the late Anna Kaminski and the late Mary Goldych.
Prior to marriage, she worked as a seamstress in a dress factory.
Catherine was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society as well as the Home Bureau.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Yablonski of Tucson, Ariz. and Helen May Yablonski Meigs of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandchildren, Kristina Meigs Alvarez (wife of Ramiro) and Robert Meigs (husband of Lara); and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Franco, Aidan and Amelia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for her at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Mother of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Mexico.
Calling hours were 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington St., Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions be made to the Mexico Food Pantry or the New Life Pregnancy Center in Mexico.
