PHOENIX, NY – Clifford  C. Key, 80, of Pennellville, passed away at home on Sunday, June 10, 2012.

Born in Syracuse, to his late parents, Pauline (Wright) and Arthur M. Key on May 13, 1932.

He was a graduate of Phoenix High School, later completing a four-year apprenticeship in his selected field as a steamfitter.

Cliff was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters 818, now Local #267 Union, Syracuse, retiring in 1990.

He was a mason and member of the Callimachus Lodge 369 F. & A. M., Phoenix; a social member of VFW Post 5540, Phoenix; life member and past secretary of the Phoenix Rod & Gun Club; past president of the CNY Rod & Gun Club, Pennellville; and past member of the Phoenix Camp-Copper Lake Association.

He was predeceased by his grandson, John David.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, the former Charlotte M. Rakaska; his children, Gale  S. (Nick) Smith of Manlius, Larry Gillespie of South Carolina, Patrick (Terry) Key of Palermo and Brian (Sue) Key of Chittenango; his grandchildren, Scott, Olivia, Marietta, Robert, Cory, Drew,
Jessica, Christopher, Cheri and Brandon; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Brewer of Canoga Park, Calif. and Adeline Carol Adams of Sun City, Ariz.; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home,
431 Main St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Richard H. Scheffler officiating.

Burial to follow service in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, with a 7:30 p.m. masonic service by members of his lodge.
