Dolores H. Oldenburg, 80

OSWEGO, NY – Dolores H. Oldenburg, 80, a resident of Scriba, passed away Tuesday June 17, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late C. Thomas and Rose (Butler) Costello Sr.

Dolores was a lifelong resident of Oswego.

She attended and graduated local schools.

Dolores worked as a sales clerk for H.L. Greens, Grants, Westons, and Jamesway.

She was a bird enthusiast, enjoying watching and feeding the birds, and also enjoyed ceramics and camping with her family.

She loved going to her brother’s camp with her sister, Pug Laurent.

She loved flowers and all animals and was always proud of her children and grandchildren.

She attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Gaylon “Gil” Oldenburg; one daughter, Pamela (Francisco) Hernandez of Florida; two sons, Gaylon “Gil” (Rita) Oldenburg Jr. and James (Diane) Oldenburg, both of Oswego; two brothers, Leonard Costello Sr. and Kenneth (Rosanne) Costello; one sister, Dorothy Laurent; sisters-in-law, Nancy Costello of Oswego and Connie (Jim) Trook of Nebraska; eight grandchildren, T.J. Diaz, Priscilla Diaz, Julia Diaz, Ivette Diaz, Gavin Oldenburg, Elena Oldenburg, Emily Oldenburg and Matthew Oldenburg; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
