OSWEGO, NY – Edith May Pilon, 71, passed away suddenly Tuesday January 21, 2014, at her home in Hinesville, Ga.
Born in Oswego, NY, Edith Pilon (née Knopp) was a long-time resident of Hinesville and a retired assistant branch manager for The Coastal Bank.
She was a classic car enthusiast who enjoyed attending local car shows with her husband in their 1960 Corvette.
She also enjoyed her bi-weekly bunco club for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Knopp; and brother, Richard.
Edith is survived by her husband of 52 years, William (Bill); and her children, William Jr. (Karen) of Atlanta, Pixie (Larry Dasher) of Hinesville and Buddy (Krista) of Hinesville.
Family in New York includes her sister, Ruth Nettles (Gilbert); mother-in-law, Mrs. Bernadette Pilon; sister-in-law, Julie Burns (John) and family; and brother-in-law, James Pilon (Jill) and family.
She was a loving “grandma” to grandchildren Megan, Katie, Daniel and Peyton; and “gigi” to great-grandchildren Lindsay, Ivey, Cale, William, Cameron and Cain.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
