OSWEGO, NY – Emma P. Matteson, 85, a resident of Adams, passed away Saturday May 17, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Flossie (Austin) Craigie.
Emma was a manager for the Sweet Shop at SUNY Oswego.
She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, cooking, crocheting, cards, spending time with her family, camping, and traveling.
Surviving are two daughters, Lou Ann (Thomas) Daniels of Oswego and Marilyn (Richard) Vinette of Syracuse; two sons, Fred (Christine) Matteson of Scriba and Jay (Kristin) Matteson of Adams; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lyman E. Matteson; one brother, Hugh Craigie; and five sisters, Eve Shell, Elsie Kucharski, Rose Gilmore, Mildred Greene and Dorothy D’Amore.
Memorial services will be held 5 p.m. on June 7 at Faith United Church.
Burial will be held privately in Riverside Cemetery.
