OSWEGO, NY – Evelyn A. (Oleyourryk) Lawton, 82, a resident of the Johnson Road in the Town of Oswego, passed away Thursday Oct. 21, 2010, in Oswego Hospital.
Mrs. Lawton was born in Minetto, the daughter of the late George and Marion (Laurent) Johnson.
Mrs. Lawton loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Lawton of Oswego; three daughters, Mary (Fred) Sheffield of Oswego, Margaret (Bob Andres) Castiglia of Oswego and Janine (Eleanor Bassett) Oleyourryk of Oswego; a son, Edward (Valorie) Oleyourryk of Oswego; three brothers, Wesley Johnson of Sandy Pond, Leroy Johnson of Oswego and Paul Johnson of Oswego; a sister, Doris Wiggins of Auburn; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grand-children; a step-son, Michael Lawton of Clinton, NC; many nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Missy.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Patrick Oleyourryk, who died in 1974; a step-daughter, Mary Commerton; and two sisters, Rose Scruton and Jeanette Victory.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
