Francis L. Dashnau, 48

OSWEGO, NY — Francis L. (Fran) Dashnau, 48, of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday January 11, 2017.

He was born in Oswego, where he lived most of life.

Fran attended Oswego schools and was a graduate of Oswego High School, class of 1987.

He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for four years, including time in Grenada and participation in the Desert Storm conflict and was honorably discharged.

Fran worked for many years in maintenance and construction and was employed as as longshoreman with the Port of Oswego Authority, Yesterday’s RV Park, and most recently for Revell Trucking of Oswego.

He mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends sharing stories.

He survived by his devoted mother, Susan Woods Revell, step-father, John Revell, father Francis Dashnau and sister, Michele Hourigan, all of Oswego; step-brother Tom Revell of Tacoma, Washington; step-sister, Jessie Revell and step-brother, Josh Revell of Joplin,Missouri; and his beloved daughter, Brooke Dashnau, of Akron, NY.

He is also survived by his loving extended family, Pearl Hendrickson, David Hendrickson, Jay Hendrickson, Beth Hendrickson and Mikey Hendirckson, all of Oswego; and close friend, William (Bill) Hogan of Oswego.

He was predeceased by his loving step-father, Rick Woods; and devoted grandmother, Louise Doersam.

He will be deeply missed by all those he helped in need.

He was a good friend to all who knew him.

There were no calling hours.

Funeral services and burial committal were held on January 17 by immediate family and friends.

Interment was in the All Saints Mausoleum in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oswego.
