OSWEGO, NY – Gerald L. Bartlett, 57, of Oswego, passed away on Thursday February 11, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

Gerry was born in Fulton, NY, grew up in Mexico, NY, and resided in the Oswego area for most of his life.

He proudly served in the United States Army.

He worked at P&C for many years and continued his working career as a long-haul trucker, travelling many highways and seeing many sites during his lifetime.

Gerry was a true outdoorsman.

He loved to hunt, fish and cook, and just sit around the campfire with his family and friends sharing many stories and many laughs.

Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Lee M. and Phyllis L. (Johnson) Bartlett; his brothers, Randy and Terry; and his sisters, Sheila and Brenda.

Gerry will be forever missed by his wife, Jean M. Wallace-Bartlett; his loving sons, Justin and Kyle; his cherished grandbabies, Ethan and Kaleb; his siblings, Tim (Chris), Jamie (Lynn), Bonnie, Lorraine, Jeff (Michelle), Russell (Jennifer), Stephanie (Kevin) and Kevin (Linda); and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego, with a service to follow at the funeral home, at 6 p.m.

Following the service, a celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at LaGraf’s Pub in Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

  1. Gerry was my loving Brother in law. I will always cherish the wonderful memories of camping, family dinners, hanging out a the pool while Gerry did all the cooking on the grill, we had so many laughs.He had a great sense of humor. I have been in his life for over twenty years so glad to have had him in my family. I will forever love and miss him. Rest In Peace Gerry, Fly high with the Angels my Brother…. Love Char

  2. So sad to read this news. I grew up with Gerry , brother Randy, and knew all his brothers and sisters.
    Prayers to his family and to his children. He was one of a kind and one that I was happy to have known and have many memories of good times.
