OSWEGO, NY – H. Hill Sheffield, 90, a former resident of County Route 53, in the town of Scriba, passed away Thursday May 20, 2010, at Oswego Hospital.
Mr. Sheffield was born in Scriba, the son of the late King and Lizzie (Hendrick) Sheffield.
He was the husband of the late Alice (Spaulding) Sheffield, who died in 2007.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an engineer with the Armstrong Cork Co. for 40 years.
He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandra (William) Beckwith, Darlene (Richard) Lower, Jo Ann (George) McQuaid and Mary (Joseph) Pasco, all of Oswego; two sons, Carl (Cheryl) Sheffield of Fulton and William Sheffield of Oswego; five grandchildren, Christine Taylor, Carolyn Beckwith, Justin McQuaid, Zachary McQuaid and Allison Pasco; one great-grandson, Connor Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, George and Macel Sheffield.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
