OSWEGO, NY – Helen M. Sereno, 91, a resident of Oswego, passed away Monday December 30, 2013, at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Kolano) Jaskula.
Helen worked at Nestles in Fulton and was a manager at the Oswego Byrne Dairy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jasper Sereno; three brothers, Joseph Jaskula, Benny Jaskula and John Jaskula; three sisters, Kate Bednarek, Bertha Cortese and Mary Cordean.
Surviving are her son, Nicholas (Mary Jane) Sereno of Oswego; a daughter, Nancy (Ronald) Gula of Grand Island, NY; six grandchildren, Ronald Gula, Robert Gula, Teresa Goebel, Kelly Sereno, Michael Sereno and Stacey Soucy; seven great-grandchildren, Connor Sereno, Lillian Sereno, R.J. Gula, Andrew Gula, Amanda Gula, Allison Gula and Jack Goebel.
A memorial mass will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
