OSWEGO, NY – James Harrington, 60, a resident of Oswego, passed away Sunday June 9, 2013, at Oswego Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Marjorie (Dowd) Harrington.

James was a supervisor for more than 30 years at Alcan/Novelis, retiring in 2003.
He enjoyed old movies, was a Sci-fi fan, and a history buff.
James was a loving single parent who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and loved his dogs.
He was a helping hand to many people, asking nothing in return.
Surviving is one daughter, Cherie (Mark) Barker of Oswego; one son, James (Stephany) Harrington of Oswego; one brother, Charles (Wendy) Harrington of Oswego; two sisters, Sallie Cappel of Fruitland Park, Fla. and Barbara (Timothy) Kraft of Oswego; six grandchildren, Mark Barker Jr., Nathan Barker, Jacob Harrington, Audrey Harrington, Cassandra Barker and Brianna Harrington; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego, following calling hours from 4-7 p.m.
Burial will be private in New Haven Cemetery.
