OSWEGO, NY – James J. Castaldo Jr., 75, a resident of West Eighth Street, Oswego, passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Mary (Mallette) Castaldo.
Jim was employed at Alcan for 31 years.
He was an extremely talented woodcarver.
He enjoyed photography, fishing, gardening and antiquing.
He loved the outdoors and spending time with his loving wife, Louise, daughters and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Louise (Jerominek) Castaldo; his beloved daughters, Theresa Marie (Gary) Fultz and Marisa Lynne Johnson, both of Oswego; his brothers, Robert (Gale) Castaldo and Ronald Castaldo, of Oswego; his sisters, Elizabeth (David) Kelly of Oswego and Anna (Robert) Cortese of Oakville, Canada; four grandchildren, Michelle Lauren (Ryan) Ellison, Brian James (Erin) Miller, Andrew Paul Fultz and Courtney Louise Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a child, Katherine Castaldo.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Church.
Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
