John E. Dibble, 90

OSWEGO, NY – John E. Dibble, 90, of Oswego, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015, at Oswego Hospital.

He was the husband of Anne (Pawlenko) Dibble.

Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine Dibble.

He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theater.

John was a truck driver for the former Cyclotherm Boiler Company.

Later, he worked as weight master and court clerk for Oswego County.

He enjoyed trips with Bill Joyce’s travel group.

He enjoyed dining out with friends.

John was a collector and driver of fine cars and loved his animals.

He was a member of the Oswego Elks #271, American Legion Post 268 and the Oswego County Sheriffs Benevolent Association.

He was an usher and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Minetto.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Anne Dibble; one son, Lawrence Eason of Hannibal; one grandson, Phillip (Angela) Eason of Hannibal; three great-grandchildren John, Madison and Gabriel.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Peter Eason.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, with services to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.

  1. John will be sorely missed by all of us that worked with him at the County Courthouse. He was a friendly and pleasant man, I’ll miss our visits. RIP my friend. Condolences to Anne and the rest of the family.
