John J. Isham, 88

PHOENIX, NY – John  J. Isham, 88, a life-long resident of Oswego County passed away peacefully on Thursday Sept. 20, 2012, after a short illness.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edna (Timerson) Isham and Harry Isham.

Surviving are his siblings, Fern Isham, Barbara (Robert) Hanley of Syracuse and Richard Isham of Lockport; several nieces and nephews.

John served honorably with the United States Marine Corps, during  World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

He enjoyed his retirement years after working decades for  O. M. Edwards, Inc. in its shipping department on Solar Street, Syracuse.

John loved going to Fair Haven Beach, taking long walks, reading newspapers; a sports enthusiast, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team; and of course, his family.

A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday September, with a service at 11 a.m. in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan  Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.

Burial in Martville Cemetery, State Route 104, Town of Sterling, NY.
