Joseph E. Laffan, 77,

OSWEGO, NY – Joseph E. Laffan, 77, a resident of Mud Lake Road in the Town of New Haven, passed away Friday June 9, 2012, at the Oneida Health Care Facility.

Mr. Laffan was born in Oswego, the son of the late John J. and Violet (LaFlemme) Laffan.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, retiring in 1975.

He served his country in Viet Nam.

He had also been a member of the National Guard.

He was formerly employed as an insulation mechanic with White’s Insulation in Syracuse, NY.

Mr. Laffan was a member of the Scriba VFW Post, and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nith Laffan of New Haven; a son, William (Beth) Laffan of Mexico; a brother, John Laffan of Central Square; a sister, Ada Laffan of Syracuse; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by two sons, John Laffan, who died in 1994, and Joseph Laffan, who died in 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 29, in St. Mary’s Church, 103 W. Seventh St., Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
