Joseph T. Stock, 54, a resident of Co Rt. 1, Scriba, passed away June 14, 2010.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Roger Stock and his loving mother Flossie Stock of Oswego.

Joe was a Foreign Veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed at Novelis for 25 years and was a member of the Novelis Fire Department for 25 years.

Joe was also a member of the Oswego Moose Lodge. Joe loved playing the drums and played with the Saltmaker Road band for 10 years.

Joe very much loved and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Joe had a heart of gold and would help anyone in the time of need. Joe was a beloved friend of many and will be greatly missed by all.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (Smith) Stock and loving children, Teressa Slimmer of Oswego; Joseph Jr. (Melanie) Stock of Volney; Bryan (Jennifer) Stock of Oswego; Joe was the beloved Papa of Brady, Presley, Rylee, Noah, Alexis, Bryan Jr. and Kyren; a brother Roger (Patrick) Stock Jr. of Watertown; four sisters, Sandy Ridge of North Carolina; Nancy (Bruce) Callen of Minetto; Debra (Charles) Ford of Scriba; Kathy Bloodgood of Oswego; several nieces and nephews.

Joe was the beloved son-in-law of Robert Sawyer Sr. and the late Mary of Scriba and beloved brother-in-law of Mary Jo (Lee) Rostien of New Jersey, Joseph (Mary Lynn) Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; Paul (Billie-Jo) Smith of Lacona, NY and Robert Sawyer Jr. of Scriba.

Funeral Services will be held 11a.m. Friday at the Assembly of God, Port City Faith, 436 West Fifth St. Oswego. Burial will be in North Scriba Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-8p.m Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.

  2. Joe was always ready to smile, always ready to help us anyway he could (as he did MANY times), and always liked by everyone who came in contact with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe and with everyone in his family…We considered him to be part of our family too…

  3. My heart goes out to Joe’s family. I only met Joe one time just over a week ago. However he touched my heart. He talked of how much he loved his wife and children. I hope that he has found the peace he was searching for.
