Lyle H. Whitney, 63

OSWEGO, NY – Lyle H. Whitney, 63, of Scriba, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.

Born in Fulton, NY, he was the son of the late Shirley and Harold (Sweet) Whitney.

He was a retired machine operator for the town of Scriba.

He was an outdoorsman enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and farming.

He was “Mr. Fix it.”

He also enjoyed motorcycling.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie (Young) Whitney; two daughters, Amanda Whitney (Jim Halstead) of Fulton and Elizabeth (Ralph) Smith of Scriba; a son, Jason (Andrea) Whitney of Baldwinsville; a brother, Richard (Melissa) Whitney of Minetto; two sisters, Betty Ann (James) Roy of Scriba and Martha Bonnell of Fulton; six grandchildren, Ethan, Gabriel, Hunter, Tyler, Brianna and Jimmy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
