OSWEGO, NY – Marjorie J. Deary, 79, of Scriba, NY, died Thursday April 7, 2016, peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Grace (Whiting) VanAuken.
She was a homemaker and also worked in food services at Donahue’s Tavern on Lake Road and Kerfien’s on County Route 29.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Woody) Deary of Oswego, Deborah (Tim) Connolly of Hannibal, Carolyn (Louie) Petrocci of Pulaski, Lynda (Tom) Godfrey of Oswego, Barbie (Adam Russo) Deary of New Haven and Tammy (Jeff Spraque) Deary of West Brooke, Maine; her sons, James Deary of Henderson Harbor and John Deary of Oswego; her brothers, Kevin O’Connor of Oswego and Rodney (Linda) VanAuken of Pulaski; her sisters, Wanda Butchino of Parish, Sally Mattison of Parish and Peggy Hoy of Parish; her 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Lycoming Methodist Church.

Burial will be in North Scriba Union Cemetery.
