Mary Margaret Lloyd, 87

OSWEGO, NY – Mary Margaret Lloyd, 87, a resident of Route 57 in the town of Scriba, passed away Friday March 25, 2016, at her home.

Mary Margaret was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Mary E. (Huffstater) Connell.

She was a life resident and was a graduate of the Oswego Normal School.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for Laborers Local #214 in Oswego, and for Carpenters Local #747.

Mary Margaret was very active in her retirement.

She was an enthusiastic crafter and enjoyed working with ceramics and plastic canvass.

She loved to sew and bake, and always shared many of the things she made during the holidays.

She enjoyed playing bunco monthly with the local seniors and was an active volunteer for the O’Mara Welcome Center and Harborfest.

She was a member of the Oswego Elks Ladies Auxiliary, the Business and Professional Women’s organization (BPW), and the Oswego County Home Bureau.

She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Lloyd of Syracuse and Rosemary (Lloyd) Canale of Oswego; two grandchildren, Michael Canale and Kira Canale, both of Oswego; and four great-grandchildren Allison and Connor Canale, and Kayla and Aaliyah Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Oswego Elks Lodge, 135 W. Fifth St., Oswego NY, 13126.
