Michael J. Taylor, 57

OSWEGO, NY – Michael J. Taylor, 57, a resident of Oswego, passed away Tuesday April 1, 2014, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born in Fulton, he was the son of the late Carl and Jean (Cook) Taylor.

He graduated from Oswego Catholic High School and Onondaga Community College.

Michael retired as a lieutenant from the University Police at Oswego State, after more than 30 years of service.

He was an avid Giants and Yankee fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, and spending time with his friends and family.

He was a longtime member of the Elks #271. He was a past officer for the Fraternal Order of Police.

Surviving are his wife, Roni (Guile) Taylor; one daughter, Nikki Taylor of Rochester; one son, Justin Taylor of Oswego; two sisters, Carla Abbott of Fulton and Nancy (Brian) McKiernan of Oswego; in-laws, Teresa and Ron Guile; several nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, Lucie.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Paul’s Church.

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
