Paul D. ‘Bud’ Murray, 69

OSWEGO, NY – Paul D. “Bud” Murray, 69, a resident of County Route 89, Oswego, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Paul P. and Helen (Rose) Murray.

He was a graduate of Oswego High School and received his Associate Degree at Onondaga Community College.

He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1961-1968.

Bud was employed many years with Verizon Telephone.

He was a guitar player in many area bands, an amateur radio operator, “N2BCQ”, a classic car owner (member of the Country Cruzers) and enjoyed fly fishing.

Bud was a past member of the Oswego Elks 271.

Surviving are his wife, Janet (Wilshire) Murray; a daughter, Brenda Murray of Georgia; two sons, Brian (Melissa) Murray of Georgia and John (Angie) Murray of North Carolina; three sisters, MaryAnn (Fred) Bailey of Florida, Shirley (Donald) Wallace of Georgia and Judy (Victor) Darrow of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Kylie, Shea, Wynn, Evan and Audrey Murray; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary’s Church.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

  1. Buddy was a legend in the areas best know Rock & Roll bands
    in the 50’s and 60’s He was Smooth and Cool Player that other
    guitars player looked up to.
