Ralph K. Ross Sr., 74

OSWEGO, NY – Ralph K. Ross Sr., 74, a resident of Oswego, passed away Sunday October 21, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Syracuse, he was the son of the late James H. and Catherine (Gilchrist) Ross.

Ralph was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He worked for Universal Car Loading in East Syracuse, where he loaded and unloaded trailers.

He also was an assistant pastor for the Mexico Church of God.

He loved watching football, especially the NY Giants, and was an Elvis fan. He loved spending time with his family and loved the Lord.

Surviving are his wife, Marva (Aldrich); three daughters, Laura (Ernest) Millington of Hudson Falls, Cynthia (Jamie) Carpenter of Warrensburg, NY and Heather (David) Haines of Fort Ann, NY; three sons, Charles (Barbara) Chiasson of Oswego, Ralph Ross Jr. of Warrensburg, NY, and Michael Ross of Fulton; 14 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special person, Carl Myhl of Baldwinsville.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Theritt; sisters, Nellie Miller, Vivian Premo, and June Chiasson; step-daughter, Joyce Richards; and great-grandson, Noah Millington.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

  1. I;m very sorry for your loss. He was a great man and loved his kids. my prayers are with the family at this time of loss. He is walking with the lord and is happy and watching over his loved ones god bless you and keep your heads up and remember the good times you had with him.

RIP Dad growing up u was just like a dad to me i truly want to thank you for all the advice and thank you for always believing in me when i was a kid even when i didnt believe in my self I LOVE U i remember a conversation i had with you during bible study as a kid and how u said you wasnt afraid to die because u knew u was gonna go be with god and dance with him i hope u have your good dancing shoes on because i know thats what your doing right now ty again for always being there for me and i truly do love you and your family
