OSWEGO, NY – Terry L. Shear, 67, a resident of Hannibal, died Tuesday June 28, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.

Born in Fulton, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Birdie Mae (Simms) Shear.

Terry worked as a machine operator at Owens Brockway in Auburn for many years.

He enjoyed hunting as well as golfing and taking rides on his motorcycle. Terry loved helping others especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Candace (Richard) Greene of Liverpool, NY; his step-daughter, Nicole (Tom) Rowe of Oswego; step-son, Dennis Segler of Oswego; his sisters, Linda Mae (William) Fowler of Hannibal, NY, Bonnie Lou (Donald) Derby of Fort Myers, Fla.; his grandchildren, Devon Crego, Peyton Rowe, Logan Cowan, Gavin Rowe and Alexis Rowe; a great-grandchild, Zayden Dulin; a devoted ex-wife, Shirley Shear; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Terry was predeceased by his son, Terry Shear.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, with a service to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego. missing or outdated ad config

  1. sure will miss ole buckshot he was a good man and a good friend to my uncle ray and dad spent alot of time at our camps in the adks im glad hes not in pain anymore he was a tough fighter i will never forget rip my friend

  2. I am saddened to learn of your passing, You were my favorite Uncle as a kid. You fought the good fight for many a year, it was apparently just your time. Now, you behave yourself up there so you don’t get kicked out. Go hunting with your son. Love you, peace.
