Thomas G. Stone, 67

OSWEGO, NY – Thomas G. Stone, 67, a resident of Oswego Town, passed away Thursday January 23, 2014, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.

Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Claire and Sarah (Palmer) Stone.

Thomas received his Bachelors Degree in Fredonia and while getting his Masters and CAS Degree in Oswego, he worked for the State Police; Park Police division.

He played piano for the group The Professors, taught music in Webster, NY, and later for the Oswego City School District.

Thomas became the vice principal at Jordan Elbridge Junior-Senior High School and later became principal for the newly created middle school at Jordon Elbridge.

Upon retirement, he became a student teacher supervisor at Oswego State.

He enjoyed traveling, cars, clocks, and antiques. He was very devoted to his family and especially his granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Gloria (Valeski); his daughter, Sara (Dennis) Rolander of Virgina; one sister, Kathy (Robert) Prentice of Cicero; one granddaughter, Allison Rolander; and his nephew, Brett Prentice.

Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

Graveside services will be held in the spring in Fairmount Cemetery, Red Creek.
