OSWEGO, NY – Viola R. Barlow, 92, a resident of Oswego, passed away Wednesday November 27, 2013, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Minetto, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Belle (Armstrong) Simmons.
She enjoyed baking, cross-stitch and making pies.
She loved her lake home and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Lucile (James) Becksted of Oswego; a sister, Dorothy Ditto of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Barlow; six grandchildren, Stephen Becksted, Mark (Patty) Becksted, Melissa Barlow, Julie (Mike) Wing, Michelle (Wayne) Williams and Kristopher (Christina) Barlow; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, was predeceased by her husband, Hiram Barlow; a daughter, Margaret Barlow; a son, Edward Barlow; brothers, Loyal, Walter and Merlin Simmons; sisters, Vera Bigelow and Leola McCracken.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be held 1-3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
Spring burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
