OSWEGO, NY – Virginia Tesoriero Saylor, 95, a resident of Oswego, passed away Sunday June 21, 2015, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late James Vincent and Sara (Corso) Tesoriero.
She worked at Taggert’s and Kline’s and also worked with her sibling’s delivering bread for her family Tesoriero’s Italian bread bakery.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Alter Rosary Society and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved to walk.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter, Roberta Reitano of Oswego; two sons, David (Mary) Saylor and Donald V. Saylor of Oswego; two brothers, James (Terry) Tesoriero and Sam Tesoriero; a sister Ida Godkin of Norwich; three grandchildren, Ginny Reitano, Francis (Amanda) Retiano and Terri (Bruce) Robinson; six great-grandchildren, Grace Reitano, Isabella Reitano, Cole Reitano, Mason (Bart) Reitano, Mackenzie Robinson and Kevin Robinson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Irvin D. Saylor; and her siblings, Anthony Tesoriero, John Tesoriero, Anna Kuno, Mary DiMerio, Theresa DiArcangelis, Frances Todaro, Sadie Hilton and Margaret DiNardo; and a son-in-law, Bart Reitano.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church.
Entombment will be in All Saints’ Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.

James Vincent Tesoriero’s Fathers name was Giovanni Tesoriero and his mother was Caterina Tesoriero. (Caterina’s maiden name was also Tesoriero.
