Walter William Brown, 76

OSWEGO, NY – Walter William Brown, 76, of Oswego, passed away Saturday March 22, 2014, at St. Luke Health Services.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Clara (Southworth) Brown.

Walter retired as First Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from 1954-1978.

He was a supervisor for International Paper (formerly Hammermill).

He enjoyed model trains, camping, and was an SU fan.

Surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Richard) Stepien; three sons, William (Jill) Brown, Michael (Dana) Brown and David (Marla) Brown; four brothers, George (Darlene “Dolly”) Brown, Gerald (Linda) Brown, James (Gloria “Cookie”) Brown and Gary (Joanne) Brown; one sister, Karen (Edward) Rappleye; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758540, Topeka, Kans. 66675 or the Paws Across Oswego County, 2035 County Route 1, Oswego, NY 13126.

Lisa, Billy, Mike, and David—Your Dad was a Very Wonderful, kind Person..When ever I had seen him he would always take time to speak to me….he was a Good man, and I had a Lot of respect for him, knowing some of the Problems your Dad had in the Past, as you know my Wife passed a Couple years ago…Tracy met your Dad a few times at your home Lisa/Rich, I remember her saying , what a nice man he was…and I would agree ” Brownie ” is a nice man ! So now maybe they will see each other again, and talk about the past….I know he will be in good hands…don’t none of you worry about Him…He is now in the Arm’s of the Angels……Stay strong, and always remember those little things about your Dad……Bob
