OSWEGO, NY – William J. Germain, 83, of Oswego, died Sunday February 7, 2016, at Morningstar Care Center.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Maurice and Grace (Carroll) Germain.
Bill was an US Army Korean veteran, serving from 1950-1953.
He was employed for the NY Power Authority.
Bill was a member of the Softball Hall of Fame in 1989. He was a member of the Oswego Elks and the American Legion Post 268.
Surviving are his wife, of 32 years Jean (Zakala) Germain; a daughter, Lisa “Frank” Giglio of Oswego; his sons, William J. (Nancy) Germain Jr. of Texas, Michael (Sandy) Germain of North Carolina and Jeff (Sue) Wright of Illinois; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
