PHOENIX, NY – William Terry Henderson, 64, of Baldwinsville and formerly of Phoenix, died Sunday May 18, 2014, at home.
Mr. Henderson was born Oct. 25, 1949, to the late Ralph and Joan Henderson of Phoenix.
Growing up, he peddled milk in and around Phoenix for his family’s farm, Henderson Dairy.
Later in life, he worked for Cooper-Crouse Hinds as a computer information department manager.
He was married to Constance Henderson for more than 42 years. “Poochie” was the love of his life.
A long-time baseball coach, he coached his sons and many other kids throughout Little League and other summer baseball teams.
He was an avid Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves fan.
Later in life, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, ice skating, gymnastics, and soccer. He also collected baseball cards.
He was also the head usher and long-time member of Trinity Assembly of God in Clay.
A fun-loving and outgoing person, he enjoyed interacting with people and making them laugh. He enjoyed visiting and playing with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Isabelle Joy Henderson; and a sister, Patricia Brown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons and their wives, Derek and Lisa Henderson of Liverpool and Andrew and Regina Henderson of East Syracuse; grandchildren, Emma, Jared, Abigail and Carter Henderson; sisters, Connie and Larry Gorthey of Florida and Bonnie and Robert Clark of Georgia; sister- and brother-in-law, Sue and Gerry Parkinson of Pennellville; brother-in-law, Dan Brown of Panther Lake; nieces and nephews, Rachael Parkinson, Mark Gorthey, Karen Gorthey, Scott Brown, Victoria Brown, Ryan Brown, Heidi Woodcock, Molly Brown, Stephanie Davis Smith
of Georgia and Brianne Davis of California; and many other loving friends and relatives.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
